The group which became King of Glory Lutheran Church, Billings, Montana, began meeting for worship in 1983. It was organized on April 8, 1984 as a mission congregation of the ALC with 152 members. In the first year, under the leadership of Mark R. Ramseth, the congregation doubled in size. Construction was begun in October of 1985 for a church plant due to be completed in May of 1986.
